The founders of Teachmeet Primary East are delighted to announce that they have adopted the name ‘Teachmeet Ireland’.
We feel the new moniker is a more suitable title to best represent our events, as on the whole our previous events have become less and less focussed on the east coast of Ireland. With two national events under our belts already, and another two coming up in October as well as one in January, we’re excited to truly take our work to the national stage.
We’re also absolutely thrilled to confirm we’ll be continuing our local Teachmeet events in and around the Dublin/Wicklow region, but we’re also now taking steps to help others set up local Teachmeet events in other parts of the country. We’ll have more on this soon!
Teachmeet Ireland will be organising a Teachmeet event at The Teaching Council’s FÉILTE conference at the RDS, Dublin on October 3rd.
FÉILTE, the Festival of Education in Learning and Teaching Excellence, is a celebration of teaching where teachers showcase their work in leading innovative learning in schools. Now in its third year, the day provides a platform for teachers to share their stories of innovation with each other and the public. In this way, they are supporting each other and parents in enhancing their own professional practice for the benefit of their pupils and students.
To attend the Teachmeet at Féilte in the RDS, you must be successful in a ‘lottery-style ballot’ that the Teaching Council themselves run. They will email members to alert them to the allocation system well in advance of a draw, and will invite interested parties to apply for tickets, which are free. Only fully-registered members of the Teaching Council will be considered for the draw.
However, the Teaching Council has agreed to guarantee a ticket to anyone giving a presentation at our Teachmeet event – meaning if you sign up to speak at our event, you can bypass the lottery system and secure a free ticket to attend the whole day’s events!

Teachmeet Ireland is delighted to announce that it will be once again facilitating a Teachmeet event at the 2016 IPPN conference. More details will be released well in advance of the event, which has been pencilled in for January 2016.
Exciting news! We have recently confirmed a collaboration with ChangeX. Our goal is to help other groups to establish Teachmeets in their own areas around Ireland and to help each other other deliver more innovative and exciting education in this country.
More to come soon!
